Very realistic Oct 01, 2008

I have two black Standard Poodles. While this is not quite life sized -- more that of an over-sized Mini -- it is incredibly realistic. Both my husband and I did a lot of double takes when first walking into the room. It is well made. After some initial curiousity, our Poodles ignore it, but it's a fun addition to the decor.

I was very pleased with the dog except for its nose. The actual nose on the dog does not match the nose in the picture. I'm using the dog to display and take pictures to post of grooming bandanas I make and sell online. I tried to tinker with the nose and make it look better, but couldn't. I'll just have to try and angle the pics from another direction so its nose isn't that visible. The nose resembled a fold in gift wrapping; How the paper is tucked in and folded over. The little tip that usually ends up being taped on the back of the present. That is exactly how the nose looks. It's just material folded down. Nothing like the life-like nose in the pics. For most people, this wouldn't matter at all. For someone who is taking pictures to post on the internet of this dogs head and neck, it matters a lot.

We gave this poodle to my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. She loved it. There is a constant battle in my household between my 7 year old daughter and my 4 year old over who the actual owner of this dog really is. They have great imagination time with this true-to-size baby poodle.
My husband and I were a little nervous when we first took the dog out of the box. The face is kind of scary in a little way. But the girls didn't seem to think so. Overall, this dog was a good choice for our children.

This plush dog is a great value for the price. Very sturdy toy that looks life-like. I would definitely buy a Melissa & Doug plush animal again.

This dog was so soft and sturdy, I fell in love with it right away! It was a gift for the director of a play I was in, but I didn't want to let it go. I would definitely buy something from Melissa & Doug again to keep for myself this time.
