English Springer Spaniel - almost live! Jul 13, 2009
By ElizVail This Springer Spaniel is so realistic, it is a hoot! I bought it for my dog, a seven month old blond labrador, as it looks almost exactly like her best friend, a male Springer Spaniel. When I took it out of the box and set it on the floor, she went nuts, ran around it a couple of time sniffing, and finally took quite a long time sniffing it's rear, apparently trying to determine whether it was a male or female! Then the neighbor Spaniel came over with his 12 year old owner. The kid had a good laugh, and the live Spaniel ran straight for the stuffed Spaniel which for a few moments he also apparently took for a live dog! I think the pink tongue hanging out is one of the details which makes it look so real.

melissa and doug plush is the best! Jan 07, 2009
By L. Jenkins I have added yet another Melissa and Doug plush animal to our menagerie. I am allergic to animals so I purchased the black lab five years ago to appease my young daughter. It is so realistic that she fell in love and keeps it with her always! We now have the dragon, the husky, the poodle, the daushand and the spaniel. If you come upon them suddenly you will swear they are alive! I recommend these plush animals to anyone who wants a quality product. They are well worth the price!
We named him "Fido!" Jan 31, 2012
By NashvilleLady333 I bought this cute guy as a model for my online pet store. He is great to model my handmade collars, leashes, coats, etc... (My "real" dogs are getting pretty sick of me dressing them up all the time!) I'm not sure how great he would be as a toy, though. His head is made from hard styrofoam and he is really stiff. Not very hugable at all. His nose isn't filled out properly bc of the hard head - so it's kind of a black blob of fabric. Don't get me wrong - he is adorable! Everyone smiles as soon as they see him! I would just be afraid that a kid would break his neck or legs really easily.

lifelike Mar 07, 2009
By Pam K. Thomas This dog is very lifelike and large. It also is quite sturdy. If you are looking for the dog pictured, like I was, you may be dissapointed. The dog I recieved had an open mouth with it's tongue hanging out, which I don't care for. The thing I have noticed with Melissa and Doug is you don't always get what is pictured. They seem to change their styles a lot without changing the item number. I think this is a mistake on their part because the new styles are often inferior. This has now happened to me more than once and I probably won't buy from them again. I gave this item a high rating because it is nice and some people might not mind getting a different dog,or even notice for that matter.
