 perfect for an animal lover Jan 01, 2010

my daughter (8) is an avid animal lover. she asked santa for a life size deer. we had seen one at a local store for $300. it was much taller ( actual life size) and seemed to be made of wood under the fur so hence the price. this deer was the perfect alternative. i was slightly disappointed in the size as i thought it was taller than it was. ( actual size is 29 7/8 inches from head to toe. 41 if you add in the antlers). my daughter loves to play vet dr and the deer is her new patient. it has with stood laying and being wrapped up pretty well so far. ( we've had it only 1 wk)i got this on sale so it was well worth it and made her day when she found it christmas morning). over all this was a great buy . watch the pricing as it seems to flux. ( i also have the melissa & dog giraffe for several months and used for same purpose. It has been fine as well.)
PLEASE NOTE neither is made for sitting on!
(im sure that would break the legs, my guess is that they are just a really thick cardboard but not sure)

This deer is quality construction. He stands up and his head is erect. You can bend his antlers so he looks more deer-like. My daughter drags him around the house, pretends to feed him and pretends to be a taxidermist too. She absolutely fell in love Christmas morning with this deer.

We bought this toy for our boys for Christmas, and they first thought that Santa had left them their own rudoph! It is sturdy enough that my 30# 2 year old can sit on it and not fall to the floor... one of my boys thinks it is his pet and the other thinks it makes great target practice! Well made and reasonable price for this toy!

the deer arrived in good condition. it is sturdy and looks great with our santa and seigh we have set up. It will be around for a great many christmas celebrations.

I ordered this toy for my four year old son. He was mesmorized by the sight of this deer under the Christmas tree. The toy is sturdy and a perfect height for my son. He even sits on it.(He weights approximately 34 lbs). We just had to take it with us to the great-grandparents for Christmas dinner. The deer's kind face and poseable antlers makes it life like and loveable. I strongly recommend this item for any other wildlife loving children.
