Bath time is fun again! Feb 18, 2011
By JDizzle
"Jason"
Recently, My 2 year old started hating baths! For about the past 2 months he would scream and scream whenever it was bath time. We wouldn't force him to take a bath but we would always just have to wipe him down in the bathroom (outside of the bath), and he was okay with that but it always felt to use like he could get cleaner. He loves to color so we decided to buy these bathtub markers in hopes that he would have fun drawing in/on the bath.
Well, it was bath time and again, the screams. I showed him his new markers and how they worked (I drew in the bath first). He stopped crying and looked a little intrigued. He took one and drew on the outside of the bath and then, before I could even grab a hold of him, he was trying to get into the bathtub, even with all of this clothes! He had so much fun in the bath coloring! It was great! But now we have a new problem; he doesn't want to get out!! I guess things could be worse, huh? So, if you are thinking about buying these in hopes it might make bath time fun, I would at least give it a shot!
Now for the product itself: They are pretty much exactly what you would expect. The colors are pretty accurate and bright. I was a little worried they would be hard to wipe off, but it came off very easily. Honestly, I didn't need any extra water or soap to get it off, it just wiped right off. For reference, my bath is like a full insert (bath and wall) and I think it is fiberglass, but not sure. I've only had these for a couple days now so I can not comment on how long they last, but I would guess hey would either dry or run out of whatever they use at some point, but I will definitely buy some more when the time comes (that is why I gave it 4 stars, I'm not sure of how long they last; they could only last two weeks for all I know). They are just plastic so its gonna be hard for your little one to break it if they are a thrower!
In short: They got my son in the bath so they did everything that I had hoped! Bath time is fun again!
UPDATE - 6/2011
Well, the time finally came when the markers wore down. We got a good 4-5 months out of them. Not too shabby. By the way, we give a bath every other night. So base how long they lasted for us on how often your child bathes.

Better than expected! Sep 16, 2009

I bought these for my son over a year ago. I've tried the crayons, the fizzes, etc, and they all either melted or stained. These do neither! They're still going strong almost every night in the tub.
Two main bonuses: the colors don't bleed or leak into the water, and the drawings easily wash off (but needs quick tub spray on tile).
Great product!!

May I have the antidote please? May 13, 2011
By C. L. Messina I want to like this toy and it's close to being everything you would expect of it. What do you expect? You expect it to write on the bathtub wall, right? It does, sort of. If you're not holding it perfectly perpendicular to the wall then your results may vary or may not happen at all. If your wall is wet in any way what you write won't stick, will melt and quickly become a blob if it isn't already. But that's not my main point of contention. My biggest issue with this is that even though it melts from the wall so easily with water it doesn't quite come off completely without a good scrubbing using Comet. But that's not all. Here's the real danger. DON'T GET THIS ON FABRIC OF ANY KIND! It just won't come out. Bleach, Tide, Oxyclean- this stuff laughs at those puny detergents.
So think about it. That shower curtain, that bath mat, as soon as a single drop of these get on it they're done for. Or, let's say you're wearing clothes and your kid shakes one of these markers, say the red one. Your bathroom will look like a splatter scene from Goodfellas and have a great time scrubbing that off the wallpaper with comet.
I've had countless wash clothes ruined by these and thought nothing of it but when this stuff killed a great bathmat, a pair of pajama pants and a favorite pair of shorts that's when I drew the line and am ready to strangle someone at Crayola. At least give me some instructions how to get this stuff off my clothes. The antidote please!

great markers Jul 30, 2010
By Jane Day These are great for the bath! The kids practice letters, numbers & draw on the tile and it wipes right off. The colors are true, vivid & easy to use. Our 4 1/2 year old and our 15 month old daughter really enjoy them. We like these so much better than the crayons, they would leave a bunch of wax in the bath & the kids would just take them out of their plastic holders. Also the paints were a complete let-down. Totally like this product

Not bad, but not great, either Mar 12, 2011
By Bay Area Parent These are not bad bath toys. I have to agree with other reviewers that it is annoying that you have to hold the markers perpendicular to the surface for them to write. My three year old daughter does okay with it, but it does seem like a design flaw.
Also, the "ink" in the markers doesn't draw that well. It is pretty light and muddy, perhaps a byproduct of it being washable, but the orange and green in particular barely show up.
Nonetheless, my daughter absolutely loves them. She wants to take a shower every night just to get to use the markers. We haven't tried them in the tub, but she has a blast with them in the shower writing mostly on the shower door. I am not sure if she likes the markers more or the squeegee I got her to use to clean them up. I got her the OXO Good Grips All-Purpose Squeegee - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CCDBRK and highly recommend it. The suction cup holder works great in the shower. The fact that she cleans up the markers when she is playing with them means I don't have to do it and the markers have less chance of staining the grout.
I can't give the markers a great review, but I am tempted to up them to a 4 star rating simply because my daughter has so much fun with them.
