My Baby Butt is on Balmex Apr 05, 2009
By D. Butler With my first two kids, I used Balmex. It was not problem. It worked. So, with this third child, I had a coupon for Desitin. Unfortunately, my baby got a rash. This didn't work. My coworker SWORE by ButtPaste. Instead of going to Balmex and what I know from the past, I bought the Butt Paste. It didn't work. I went out and got the Balmex....used it and it worked!!! This product literally works in the first diper change. I gave baby a bath, Balmexed her, put her to sleep and in the morning, the redness, like with the other kids, was gone. Balmex from now on for my baby and for baby shower gifts.
One of our favorites! Sep 10, 2011
By S. Sanders Great for sensitive skin prone to diaper rash. We alternate between this and Triple Paste during the day and use mostly lanolin at night. Thick, stays on well. Really works to relieve red skin in one diaper change.

I love balmex. I use it as a preventative measure. My daughter is almost 4 months now and has never had diaper rash. Sometimes her little butt looks red after a 12 hour night without a diaper change but the redness literally vanishes with just one clean diaper with balmex. It is a nice thick white paste that has no smell (which I love). I have tried vaseline before but it didn't seem like it was doing anything. I also tried desitin and found it to be more watery and have a horrible medicinal smell. Just fyi, before applying any diaper rash ointment you should make sure the babys butt is nice and dry otherwise you are just trapping the moisture under the ointment. I have 2 big 16oz jars for home and bought the 4 pack of the 4 oz tubes for her diaper bags and daycare. p.s I have also used this on a burn I got and it cleared it up in a day.

By Slarivet This is the best diaper rash cream I have found, and does as promised, reducing redness in 1 application. It also comes off easily with baby wipes, unlike other products that have to be scrubbed off. The 1 pound jar is a dream, it stays right with my son's diaper changing paraphernalia and will last a wonderfully long time - and somehow seems less clumsy to use than the tube.

By Erin Kays I am halfway through the 16 oz jar. Baby has never had a hint of a rash. It is thick and creamy and keeps her skin dry.
I like this MUCH better than Desitin, which smelled medicine-y to me. However, this Balmex has no scent at all.
I would buy this again.
